Laurel Schwulst

Laurel Schwulst is an artist, designer, and writer. She runs the design practice Beautiful Company and also teaches at Yale and Rutgers. Previously, Laurel was the creative director of The Creative Independent, Kickstarter's online publication. Before that, she worked at the design studio Linked by Air. Her book Perfume Area, co-authored with Sydney Shen, (Ambient Works, 2015) contemplates thirty-six designer fragrances. Most recently, Laurel made the ambient travel app Flight Simulator (Soft, 2019).

Mindy Seu

Formerly, Mindy worked at the design consultancy 2x4, and as a design instructor at California College of the Arts. She recently designed and produced archival sites for Ralph Ginzburg and Herb Lubalin’s Eros and Avant Garde magazines. She is currently a student in Harvard’s Graduate School of Design

Dinamo

Dinamo is a Swiss type design agency offering retail and bespoke typefaces, design software, research and consultancy. Dinamo has spaces in Basel & Berlin, and satellite members in several more locations. Members of Dinamo are visiting teachers to various art academies and have been invited for workshops and lectures by educational institutions internationally. 

In 2017, Dinamo was awarded the Swiss Design Award by the Swiss Federal Office of Culture. This past year, Johannes Breyer and Fabian Harb were invited to be and are now members of the AGI.

Fall 2018

Andrew Sloat

Andrew Sloat is a graphic designer and filmmaker. His work explores the relationship between the two-dimensionality of print design and the three-dimensionality of theater. Andrew is currently the creative director at BAM, the Brooklyn Academy of Music. He also teaches in the graduate graphic design program at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Chris Lee is a graphic designer and educator based in Buffalo and Toronto. Through the genres of currency and documents, his research explores graphic design’s entanglement with power, standards, and legitimacy.
